Suomalainen NHL-konkari yhdessä tilastossa sarjan huonoin – faneilta rajua lokaa: ”Historian surkein hankinta”

Suomalaishyökkääjä Leo Komarov siirtyi kesällä Toronto Maple Leafsista neljävuotisella ja 12 miljoonan dollarin arvoisella sopimuksella New York Islandersiin.

31-vuotiaan hyökkääjän kausi on lähtenyt melko ailahtelevasti liikkeelle, kun kahdeksan ottelun jälkeen hänellä on kasassa vain tehot 1+2=3.

Gotham SN -lehden toimittaja Jimmer Bellows otti tutkintaan NHL-pelaajien Corsi-tilastot ja sieltä paljastui, että Komarov on tällä hetkellä siinä koko sarjan viimeinen vähintään 40 minuuttia pelanneet pelaajat mukaan laskien.

Kaikessa yksinkertaisuudessaan, Corsi laskee kuinka monta laukausta tietyn pelaajan oma joukkue saa aikaan hänen ollessa jäällä, kun taas se määrä vähennetään vastustajan ampumista laukauksista kyseisen pelaajan ollessa jäällä.

NHL:ssä jopa 593 pelaajaa on pelannut vähintään 40 minuuttia tällä kaudella ja Komarov oli koko tilaston aivan viimeisellä sijalla. Komarovin ketjutoveri Valtteri Filppula löytyi taas sijalta 586.

Kolmen miljoonan dollarin palkkaa nauttiva Komarov on joutunut pahasti kiekkokansan hampaisiin. Osa piikitteli Komarovia osuvin tilastoin ja kommentein:

Its hard to really put into words how bad Filppula and Komarov are, and how much better we could be with even just replacement level players in their spots. Not to mention the fact that we have high upside guys like Bellows and JHS in the AHL. Even fritz is a meaningful upgrade.

Beauvillier needs to find a way off the Filppula-Komarov line but he'll never produce enough with them to earn a bigger role so he's gonna stay on that line and stink and oh god its a vicious cycle

Hickey has to go, Pelech has to go, Komarov has to go. Toews, Aho, Bellows may be young but that effort was just unacceptable.
